STEAM & Dream Liberation Labs: Launching Healthcare and Technology Programs in 3 Chicago Schools This Fall!
STEAM & Dream Liberation Labs is set to revolutionize education by launching two transformative healthcare and technology programs in three Chicago schools this fall!
On September 3, 2024, STEAM & Dream Liberation Labs successfully hosted its Launch Fundraiser at Three City Social Club in Chicago. Founders Scott Tillman-Franklin and Aaron Tillman-Franklin shared their inspiring stories as first-generation college graduates and their mission to close the STEM and healthcare gap for Black and Brown youth.
STEAM & Dream Liberation Labs is a transformative initiative aimed at bridging the STEM exposure gap by empowering students through mentorship, culturally affirming programs, and hands-on projects. Our mission is to close the STEM exposure gap and improve the futures of Black and Brown youth through mentorship and hands-on culturally affirming programming that fosters their STEM identities and empowers them to address real-world challenges with their imagination.
We are excited to announce the launch of two programs in three Chicago schools starting September 16, 2024.
Through our healthcare and technology tracks, 75-85 students from Gary Comer College Prep Middle School, Perspectives IIT Math & Science Academy, and UChicago Woodlawn Charter School will have the opportunity to explore STEM careers in our 10- to 14-week in-school and out-of-school programs. Our goal is to show these students that their dreams in STEM and healthcare are valid and achievable.
During the event’s Power STEM Future session, participants pledged their support to help us close the STEM gap in underserved communities. Now, we’re calling on you to join us!
You too can make a difference! Support the future generation of Black and Brown students and help close the STEM and healthcare gaps in their communities. Donate now to make an impact!
